Starting off this week with drawing a card from each of my three Tarot decks and from 2 of my Oracle decks

From The Herbcrafter’s Tarot, I pulled 13. Death | Marigold. My initial thoughts on pulling this card is that things are coming to a close so that new things can start. The deck book offers “Honor that which is passing” “Celebrate the beauty and fragility of life” & “Welcome endings”. In the description I find the following quotes important: “Find closure so you may accept renewal” “Honor your experiences as they pass” “…embrace this time of transition”. Despite Death being a scary card to newer tarot readers, I find comfort in drawing the death card especially in winter. It tells me old habits are dying and making room for new habits.

From the Pastoral Tarot deck I pulled Nine of Wands. I’m still getting to know this deck so I had no initial thoughts other then ‘Ooo pretty deer’. I pulled meaning out of the following phrases from the guide book: “… observe … courage and resilience.” “… boldly taking a stand.” “… you still have inner reserves of strength to draw upon.” Upon reading the description I get the sense that adversity will be faced but to draw on your strengths to face this battle. As the Wands suit is associated with fire this tells me that this adversity will be something I’m passionate about or rather to draw on the strengths of my passions.

Ah the classic Rider-Waite deck giving me a card to fear. The Tower. A disruption in life. A change that needs to happen even if it is scary. In the reverse my guidebook says the following: “… about to have a narrow escape from something.” “You may find that something shocking occurs, but may have a little more insight prior to the event”. This card gives little meaning on it’s own but will help draw a conclusion in the big picture reading

From The Herbal Astrology Oracle deck I pulled Rue | Protection; Reversed. The guidebook gives the following for the reversed meaning: “spirit possession, parasitic energies, anger, self-criticism, judgment, self-hatred”. In the guidance section, I pull meaning from the following: “… protect your aura from lurking and possessive spirits that might be consuming your energy.” Like the Tower card I pull more meaning from this card in the big picture reading.

From the Earth Magic Oracle deck I pulled Vigilance | Stone People. The guidebook offers to be vigilant, “but not out of fear”. I see meaning in being calm and collected even when the dark waters around you are rising, for they will fall again.
Big Picture Reading
A lot of dark cards but this offers a clear reading in my opinion. The Tower and Death card tell me that change is coming and an end is near. This might mean ongoing changes are coming to a end or it might mean a change will start and settle into existence or the background during this week. The Nine of Wands, Rue, and Stone People tell me to keep my head on straight and protect myself first. These changes can seem scary but with a vigilant eye and inner strength we can protect our sense of self in these turbulent times.
